A Good Quality PotJan. 15, 2009

This pot is solid and has some heft to it - you can really notice the quality of construction. For the price, you're definitely getting a good pot. I just don't know if there are comparable quality pots for less out there.I've had this pan for four weeks, and I've loved cooking with it - it heats well and foods don't seem to burn as easily as with my inexpensive Mirro non-stick pot. The 6 qt size has been perfect for cooking homemade soups and for stirring 6 cans of green beans with sauce. If you're trying to decide between this and the much-less-expensive 6qt saute pot, keep in mind that the two loop handles on the stock pot are easier to use than the long handle (and loop handle) on the saute pot. The loop handles on the stock pot do get hot, so you need to use pot holders when removing it from the stove.I've been pleasantly surprised that the food I've cooked in it so far hasn't stuck - it's almost as easy to clean as the non-stick Mirro pan was. For the few occasional tough spots and food residue, I use Bar Keepers Friend. It works great, but be careful to scrub with the direction of the circular grain of the metal. Regardless, with regular use, expect this pan to pick up minor scratches. It's also difficult to keep up the out-of-the-box shine without extra attention (which I don't give), but I wanted induction-compatible cookware, so I don't mind putting up with a few smudges.

I purchased this stock pot for making soups, pasta sauces etc. I couldn't be more pleased. If you love to cook, All-Clad is worth the expense. It makes such a difference.
